Hjalmar Söderberg's DOKTOR GLAS – a monologue with Jens Hultén
"Nothing diminishes and depresses a person as much as the awareness of not being loved."
Hjalmar Söderberg's classic novel Doktor Glas still raises uncomfortable questions. What is right and wrong? When do good intentions become abuse? And how far can a person go in the name of love and morality?
In this evocative one-man show, Jens Hultén takes us into the inner world of Doctor Glas – a man caught between passion, conscience and guilt. Through Hultén's own adaptation of Söderberg's text, the timeless story is transformed into an intense and poignant monologue, where the line between thought and action is blurred.
Under Johan Hedenberg's direction, a psychological drama unfolds – charged with quiet humor, unsettling presence, and existential darkness, and with Eddie Hultén's specially composed music, the drama is elevated to another dimension. A performance that lingers long after the lights have gone out. Tickets here.
